PLant people seem to die??? And then regenerate without memories of what happened before??? Oh it's because they're fed by the people being devoured by the Lily.

Flower on Baron's back shows all the people devoured as plants within it- where it's eaten them. Once the plant dies all the plant people turn to basic ass plants. Turns out they are Baron's dead crew after a storm because he couldn't move on. They are simulacrums of it.
